'The best kids' magician in the world'
Mario “the Maker Magician” Marchese is a New York based, touring family performer known for his DIY robotic creations, upcycled props, and new school slapstick character.
It’s magic through the lens of the Maker Movement! As seen on Sesame Street, Sprout, and live on tour with David Blaine, who called him “the best kids magician in the world!!”
Mario’s show is an upbeat, hilarious, and very interactive experience that leaves children and families inspired to nurture their own creative paths.
We know you are going to love him.
Dave Cox is hilarious. He’s very, very funny.
More than that, he’ll fool the pants off of you. And then he’ll very politely give them back, unlike some of those weaselly trouser stealing magicians I’m sure you’ve heard so much about.
Dave’s quick wit, spellbinding magic, and side-splitting comedy makes him a perfect lecturer for Trix 2021 and we are positively wetting ourselves in anticipation of the delights he will be bringing with him.
A master of improv, he will teach you to take your show to new and loftier heights than you would have imagined possible.
He has been performing comedy and magic professionally for over 25 years and he has also provided voiceovers for MTV and appeared in numerous commercials.
He’s also a regular performer at the Magic Castle.
On top of all that, he’s a super nice guy and we know you’ll just love him.
Steve Petra trained at the National Theatre of Puppet Arts and at Jim Henson Productions in Manhattan. He is a full-time professional ventriloquist and puppeteer performing his own scripts, songs and music. Previously, he worked as a professional musician. He now specializes in curriculum-based assembly programs for elementary schools.
Put simply, Steve is one of the funniest and most creative performers in the world. He’s also one of the busiest! We have been trying to persuade Steve to come to Trix in the Stix for the past 5 years, but his performing schedule always made it impossible for him to make the trip. That’s why he was the first person we rang when we knew our 2021 Staycation Convention was happening.
Steve will be presenting his ‘Making it Different Lecture’ and it’s not to be missed!
Barry Mitchell Is known the world over as one of the most prolific magical inventors. We are over the moon that he can join us online for Trix this year, but here are some facts you may not know …
He was formerly a street magician in the New Orleans French Quarter.
He was formerly a regular opening act for country music stars.
He was formerly the featured comedian at Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede Dinner Attraction
He was formerly a lecturer at both Magic Castle in Hollywood
and the Magic Circle in London
He has formerly spoken for large corporations, public schools, and civic organizations.
All this former experience means he just can’t keep a job.
Actually, he has been successfully unemployed as a humorist
and children’s entertainer for over three decades
He’s also one of our most requested lecturers!
The first of our returning lecturers, Christopher T. Magician will need no introduction to anyone who was at Trix 6 in 2018! In fact you probably saw quite a lot of him as he remains the first and only Trix lecturer in history to get naked on stage!
A brilliant performer, a genius at routining and a prolific author, his book ‘Beyond Look Don’t See’ is the definitive work on children’s entertainment and his subsequent releases have all become instant classics.
“Imagine PEE WEE’s PLAYHOUSE. Now imagine it being even better. A LOT better. Then imagine putting it in a blender with
That’s what Christopher T. Magician feels like on your soul!”
– Ronny Pascale, Artistic Director, The PIT NYC
We couldn’t have put it better ourselves. Welcome Back Chris T!
I met Ken Scott at Kidabra in 2011 and learned two things right away:
Firstly, I never want to follow him on stage again.
Secondly, if Ken Scott is in the building, I want to be in the same room because that’s where the fun is happening!
We were honoured that Ken chose Trix for his first ever UK lecture in 2017 and to say he was a hit is an understatement! People were asking if we could have him back before he’d even left the stage!
During this difficult year, Ken has taken online performing to a whole new level, so he was a natural choice to present a lecture in our first fully virtual Trix.
